Gender Equality Action Plan (2024-2028) was adopted

Gender Equality Action Plan was accepted at our university. According to the plan covering a four-year period;


Iğdır University (IĞDÜ) attaches importance to ensuring gender equality in scientific research and development processes and institutional culture. The basic management approach of our university is based on developing and implementing a policy that ensures balance, diversity and equal rights between male and female academic, administrative staff and students. The Gender Equality Plan aims to overcome the problems that perpetuate inequality between men and women in the institutional structure in the medium term. The implementation of this action plan, which covers a four-year period (2024-2028), has been guaranteed by the University Senate and will be carried out and monitored by Iğdır University Women and Family Studies Application and Research Center (KAÇUM). The plan will be inspected and renewed depending on the evaluation of the implementation results. Within the scope of Iğdır University Gender Equality Plan, the University Senate undertakes to carry out studies on the following issues throughout the University.​

Iğdır Üniversitesi cinsiyetçi ve baskıcı; mobbing vb. hak ihlalleri ortaya çıkmaması için önleyici eylemler alır. Bu kapsamda;

1. IĞDÜ is sexist and oppressive, mobbing etc. It determines a zero tolerance policy against rights violations.

2. IĞDÜ is sexist and oppressive, mobbing etc. It conducts regular training to ensure that everyone is aware of rights violations based on unequal power relations and the impact of violations on people.

3. IĞDÜ ensures that everyone knows that these violations of rights are crimes and that it has a zero tolerance policy against violations.

4. Persons on IĞDÜ boards of directors attend gender training within 6 months after their term of responsibility begins.

5. It ensures that the IĞDÜ policy document is known by those who have ties to the institution.

6. The policy document becomes a component of orientation and training.

7. The steps chart to be followed in cases of slander, mobbing, sexual harassment and discrimination is made available to employees.

8. Meetings are moderated and people are guaranteed equal say.

9. The information contained in the policy document is turned into a training module and training on the policy document is provided in all branches.

10. IĞDÜ Equality Commissions and KAÇUM ​​are responsible for the realization and follow-up of the training in this policy document.

11. The persons, committees or centers that will represent Iğdır University may be mentioned in press releases, web pages, panels, etc. They receive "Internal egalitarian communication" training on using egalitarian communication language and giving equal time to male and female speakers, establishing a balance between male and female panelists, and ensuring that the representation of men and women is equal on web pages or in favor of women.
